01.20.2017 – Old Testament: Matt 14.23
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 14.22–36 on January 20, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Jesus came to save the world, but sometimes He had to get away from the world and be alone, alone with God,
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there (Matthew 14.23).
Although His ministry would last only three and a half years, a ministry devoted to saving man and teaching him how to live, Jesus still found the need for solitude; for Jesus that meant communing with His Father.
- How often do you spend time alone with God?
- If not much, what can you do to rearrange your schedule to make sure you spend time with Him?
