02.04.2017 – Old Testament: Exo 34.21
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 34–36 on February 4, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
When the Lord told Israel to work six days and to rest on the seventh day, He meant what He said, even if other important events were scheduled,
“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest” (Exodus 34.21).
He knew their temptation, that during plowing time and harvest time, they would want to work, but if they did what He said, He would make sure that everything turned out right, so that they did not suffer economically for taking the day of rest during those pressing and urgent times.
Questions:
- Do you believe that the Lord shall supply your every need?
- If you pause your day or week for spiritual activity, do you believe it will hurt you?
