02.28.2017 – Old Testament: Num 21.21–22
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 21–23 on February 28, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
As Israel wandered about in the wilderness for 40 years, they would come to a nation’s boundary, and since the Lord did not give that territory to Israel, they had to ask permission to pass through,
Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, “Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into fields or vineyards; we will not drink water from wells. We will go by the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory” (Numbers 21.21–22).
Respecting someone’s property of any kind is the right thing to do. If people give you permission to pass through or to use their stuff, treat it well, and if possible, return it in better condition than when you first used it. If they do not give permission, do not become bitter, but move on.
- Do you give others permission to use your things?
- Do you ask permission to use other people’s things?
