03.09.2017 – New Testament: Mark 12.43–44
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 12.28–44 on March 9, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Jesus watched people put money into the treasury, including the rich who put in much, but then He observed a widow who put in two small copper coins,
So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood” (Mark 12.43–44).
What moved this woman to give as she did? She knew of the Lord’s blessings toward her, but she also knew that the Lord would take care of her, even as He had her entire life.
- If you believe that the Lord supplies what you need, how will that affect your giving?
- Does believing that the Lord supplies your want mean that you will be rich?
