Jesus wanted His disciples to prepare the Passover, and they did as He wished. Later, the Bible says,

In the evening He came with the twelve (Mark 14.17). 

Even as the Israelites during the exodus from Egypt ate the Passover in the evening, so did Jesus and His disciples, for He spent most of the three and a half years of His ministry with those men, training them for a work that would forever change the entire world.
