After the circumcision of John and before the beginning of his work as the forerunner of the Christ, we do not know much about him. Luke said,

So the child grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel (Luke 1.80). 

During that time in the deserts, God prepared John to be the kind of man who could serve boldly as the forerunner for the Lord Himself when He would begin His ministry among men.

What is God doing in your life? Is He preparing you for a good work in the future?
