03.27.2017 – New Testament: Luke 5.30
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 5.17–39 on March 27, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Jesus was a holy man, or should we say, Jesus is the Holy Man, the Holiest of All? His disciples sought to live as He did. Therefore, His critics complained about the same things they saw in His disciples. When He lived on the Earth, should He not have associated with people who were like Him, that is holy? Yet, He did not, nor did His disciples.
And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” (Luke 5.30).
Think of the rejects in your town. Now in your mind’s eye see Jesus having meals with those people.
Questions:
- What is He doing?
- Can you do the same?
