03.30.2017 – Old Testament: Jdg 1.19–21
To read the Bible in a year, read Judges 1–2 on March 30, In the year of our Lord 2017

The God of Israel promised to give all the Land of Canaan to Israel and that they would be able to crush all their enemies, yet, of Judah and Benjamin, the Bible says,
So the LORD was with Judah. And they drove out the mountaineers, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the lowland, because they had chariots of iron. And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said. Then he expelled from there the three sons of Anak. But the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem; so the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day (Judges 1.19–21).
Look at that first sentence, then contrast it with the rest of the passage. If Judah and Benjamin had kept it before their minds that Yahweh God was with them, then they could have done whatever the Lord wanted them to do!
- Do you believe that the Lord is with you?
- Do you live like that is your belief?
