Jesus talked with Nicodemus, a ruler and a teacher of the Jews, but who did not understand some basic things about Jesus, nor did Nicodemus understand matters of the Spirit. In part of their conversation, Jesus said,

“No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven” (John 3.13). 

Jesus came from Heaven and He returned to Heaven. That cannot be said of any of us. We get our start on the Earth, and if we follow Jesus, by His grace He will take us into Heaven.
