To read the Bible in a year, read John 4.1–30 on May 13, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
A nobleman had a sick son, even to the point of death. Therefore, the man went to Jesus, knowing that He could save the boy. When the father got to Jesus, the Lord told the man that he could go back home, because his son was doing well, he was alive,
And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!” Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household (John 4.51–53).
Jesus can prevent death, He can raise the dead, and He lets people die everyday. He shows that He has power over man’s greatest enemy, because He is the Son of God.
- Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
- What is death?
- What do you think about your own death?
