Jesus knew that in 24 hours, He would be in His tomb. The disciples did not know it, and they would want to be where He would go, but they had to wait,

“Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you” (John 13.33). 

We have to finish our course, and the work that God has for us on the Earth, and then we can join our Lord and Teacher.
