06.06.2017 New Testament: John 16.14
To read the Bible in a year, read John 16.1–15 on June 6, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
On the night before His death, Jesus gave reassurance to His disciples that they would not be alone, for He would send them the Holy Spirit. He explained the role of the Spirit,
“He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you” (John 16.14).
The Holy Spirit’s concern was to glorify Jesus. Therefore, the disciples could know for sure that when Jesus sent the Spirit, He would do precisely as instructed, for He would want to glorify Jesus. The Spirit would glorify Jesus by taking from Jesus and giving it to the disciples. Therefore, they would not be alone.
