06.10.2017 New Testament: John 18.36
To read the Bible in a year, read John 18.24–40 on June 10, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Do you picture in your mind Jesus setting up an earthly kingdom? If so, why? Recall the words that He spoke to Pilate,
“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here” (John 18.36).
His kingdom is the kingdom of heaven on Earth in the form of the church. The subjects of the kingdom have made a spiritual connection with Jesus. Since His kingdom is not of this world, His servants do not fight a carnal war for Him, but war in the spirit.
- Are you in the kingdom of Jesus?
- Do you know how to get into the kingdom?
