When Josiah died—the Bible refers to the great crying of the Jews, because after some evil kings—Judah had a godly king again. Look how he dedicated himself to the Lord,
Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book (2 Chronicles 34.31).
He made a covenant to follow the Lord with all his heart and with all his soul. If the Lord we read of in the Bible is truly the Creator of the heavens and the Earth, thus the Judge before whom we shall one day stand, how can we give Him anything less than all our hearts and all our souls?
Questions:
- Are you giving the Lord your all?
- If you are holding back, why?
This gives us Christians something to ponder. Just what is it that we are doing wrong? Not giving our all to the Lord.
