06.16.2017 – New Testament: Acts 2.5
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 2.1–13 on June 16, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The Lord had promised Abraham that in him, God would bless all the nations of the Earth (Genesis 12.3). He began that blessing when He sent Jesus to the Earth, and then Jesus set up His kingdom on the Earth, and look how He began it on the Jewish feast day of Pentecost,
And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven (Acts 2.5).
Then Peter would preach to those Jews who had come to Jerusalem from every nation under heaven, and they in turn would speak the Good News of Jesus Christ to their home nations, and so would begin the fulfillment of the promise to Abraham. God does wonderful things!
- Are you a follower of Jesus Christ as those devout Jews became?
- Did you become one in the same way that they did? (See verse 38.)
