06.26.2017 – New Testament: Act 7.58b
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 7.44–60 on June 26, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
As the Jewish Council stoned Stephen to death, Luke shows us a young man standing by,
And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul (Acts 7.58b).
Saul, later known as Paul, is someone we never would have guessed as becoming the greatest promoter of Christianity, because he stood there watching his friends kill a man for promoting Christianity!
We normally want someone who is already fairly close to being a Christian, but just needs some adjusting. However, it was with people like Saul that the Lord changed the world for all time.
Questions:
- Do you judge others as poor candidates for the Way before meeting them?
- Have you ever been wrong on this matter?
