Kiss the Son

Psalms Bible Background

07.10.2017 Old Testament: Psa 2.10–12

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 1–3 on July 10, In the year of our Lord 2017

By Don Ruhl

After prophesying of the resurrection of the Son of God, David said that the Son of God would rule the nations. Therefore, David exhorted the rulers of the Earth,

Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
(Psa 2.10–12)

Are you listening, kings of the Earth? Are you also listening, judges of the Earth? You better serve the Lord and kiss the Son, for the time of His wrath shall come and you shall perish. However, if you put your trust in the Lord, in the Son of God, you shall be blessed.
