What happens when you commit your way to the Lord

Psalms Bible Background

07.22.2017 – Old Testament: Psa 37.5–6

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 36–37 on July 22, In the year of our Lord 2017

By Don Ruhl

Certainly the Bible teaches that when we put ourselves completely into the hands of the Lord, He uses us for His purposes and He also blesses us, as the psalmist urged us,

Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
(Psalm 37.5–6)

The only thing I can say is that I have done what this passage says, and I have seen its fulfillment. Therefore, you try it and see whether you experience the fulfillment.

Questions:

  • When you commit your way to the Lord, are you seeking your will or His will?
  • Who runs the universe?
