07.28.2017 – New Testament: Acts 27.43–44
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 27.26–44 on July 28, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The Roman centurion commanded with taking Paul to Rome, saw something in him worth saving, for when the Roman soldiers wanted to kill Paul, the centurion stepped in,
But the centurion, wanting to save Paul, kept them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should jump overboard first and get to land, and the rest, some on boards and some on parts of the ship. And so it was that they all escaped safely to land (Acts 27.43–44).
We do not know the nature of this centurion, but he knew the nature of Paul, and prevented his own soldiers from killing Paul. What was it about Paul that made a potential enemy want to save his life?
Questions:
- What is your nature?
- Do people want to do things for you?
