08.18.2017 – Old Testament: Psa 110.3
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 109–111 on August 18, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Psalm 110 prophesied of the Messiah. The New Testament quotes from this Psalm several times in affirmation of Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. The opening two verses speak of His victory among His enemies, but then verse 3 speaks of His people,
Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.
In the first two verses, the Bible prophesied that the Messiah would have to make His enemies His footstool and that He would rule among them with the rod of His strength, but His people would offer themselves willingly to Him.
- Why do you follow Jesus Christ?
- Have you offered yourself to Him that He may use you as He pleases?
