The unconverted, whether from a Jewish background or a worldly background, cannot see or understand the purpose of the Law and the rest of the Hebrew Bible unless they turn to Christ. Whenever they read the Old Testament, they have a veil on their faces, keeping them from understanding that wonderful part of God’s word. However, when one of them does turn to the Lord Jesus, something beautiful happens,
Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away (2 Corinthians 3.16).
They start to see things that they never saw before, although they read right over those things before in the Law, the Psalms, and the Prophets. A good example of that is Paul. See the changes that it made in his life.
- What do you think of the Old Testament?
- If you despise it, could it be that you have not fully converted to Christ yet?
