09.24.2017 – New Testament: Gal 2.11
To read the Bible in a year, read Galatians 2 on September 24, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Paul had to present evidence over and over that he was an apostle on a level with all the other apostles. Many people in the early church considered Peter as one of the pillars of the church, yet, Paul had to rebuke Peter once,
Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed… (Galatians 2.11).
This showed Peter and Paul on equal terms. It also showed that Peter had sinned and the rest of the context shows that he led others astray. Therefore, someone had to correct him and Paul did it. Please do not reject Paul, for if you do, you reject the One who sent him.
