Where do you go for your counsel?

When you need counsel on living, where do you go for it? For some people, it never even occurs to them to consult the Lord or His word. The Lord pronounced a woe upon Israel for going elsewhere for counsel,

“Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD,
“Who take counsel, but not of Me,
And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit,
That they may add sin to sin;
Who walk to go down to Egypt,
And have not asked My advice,
To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh,
And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!”
(Isaiah 30.1–2)

Israel was already in sin, but then they added to it by treating the Lord as though He did not even exist and they went to Egypt of all places.

Questions:

  • Where do you go for counsel on living?
  • Do you believe that the Lord has the answers?
