Do you preach? Do you teach? Why? Are you trying to hurt someone or are you trying to help someone? In the first century, those two different motives existed,

Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill… (Philippians 1.15). 

Paul was happy to a certain degree, as long as either group preached Christ. If they taught error, then, of course, he would fight them. Yes, everyone should have the right motive, but if they preach the truth, let us rejoice.
