10.05.2017 – Old Testament: Isa 32.20
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 31–33 on October 5, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Isaiah 32 prophesied the peace of the reign of the Messiah, also known as the Christ. Starting at verse 16, the prophet spoke of the results of righteousness, including this,
Blessed are you who sow beside all waters,
Who send out freely the feet of the ox and the donkey.
(Isaiah 32.20)
Initially, I read that to mean that you would be blessed for doing those things, but it is the reverse. Those who sow and send out do so because they are blessed. This shows the blessed state of those who do the work of the Spirit during the time of the Messiah, just as we do in the church now.
Questions:
- Do you sow the seed of the Gospel or support it?
- How do you support or back the workers of the Christ?
