We are shocked when people react adversely to our beliefs, but why do we react that way? The Bible warns us in several places not to be shocked,

For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know (1 Thessalonians 3.4). 

Rather than us expressing outrage that it would happen, let us see it as what the Bible prophesied as being fulfilled in our lives.
