10.16.2017 – New Testament: 1Th 4.13
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 4 on October 16, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
You have brothers and sisters in Christ who have died. Weep, but do not weep as though you will never see them again,
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4.13).
Our hope is eternal life, right? Our departed brothers and sisters in the Spirit have the same hope. Therefore, we shall see one another again, and in the sentences that followed, Paul explained that the resurrection will make it all possible.
Questions:
- Do you cry at funerals for faithful Christians as though you will never see them again?
- Is it possible to cry, but still know that you will see them again?
