10.20.2017 – Old Testament: Jer 4.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Jeremiah 3–4 on October 20, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The Lord told Israel what they had to do to return Him. Would they do it? If you have strayed from Him, will you do the things of which Jeremiah wrote? If you never strayed and remain loyal to Him will you continue to do these things?
“If you will return, O Israel,” says the LORD,
“Return to Me;
And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight,
Then you shall not be moved.
And you shall swear, ‘The LORD lives,’
In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness;
The nations shall bless themselves in Him,
And in Him they shall glory.”
(Jeremiah 4.1–2)
First, He said to return to Him.
Second, put away your abominations.
Third, swear that the Lord lives.
The Lord lives in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness, and the nations shall find a blessing in the Lord, even as they have in Jesus.
Questions:
- What are you willing to do to remain faithful to the Lord?
- Do you seek Him daily?
