11.07.2017 – New Testament: Heb 4.15
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 4 on November 7, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
We have a High Priest who has entered heaven and we can go to Him during time of need and find grace, as the Book of Hebrews explains,
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4.15).
Just His temptations in the wilderness after His forty-day fast alone show that He experienced temptation and thus knows of our weaknesses. He understands. However, He also leads us because He made it through those temptations without giving in to them, but He overcame them by believing and living the word of God.
- Do you know the word well enough to resist temptation?
- What do you do when you are tempted?
