Go on to maturity

Hebrews Bible Background

11.09.2017 – New Testament: Heb 6.1–3

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 6 on November 9, In the year of our Lord 2017

By Don Ruhl

Do not become stagnant as a Christian, either in good works or in working in the good word. The Book of Hebrews gives this exhortation,

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits (Hebrews 6.1–3).

Do we have to keep going over the same material or can we mature in Christ? We expect people to grow in this world, why not in the word?

Questions:

  • Do you like to hear new and challenging things from the word of God?
  • Have you quit growing as a Christian?
