12.09.2017 – New Testament: Jude 16
To read the Bible in a year, read Jude on December 9, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Jude wrote to warn of men who had crept into the church and who were turning the grace of God into an excuse to do lewd things. As he characterized these people, he said,
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage (Jude 16).
Just because you meet someone who does some of those things, does not mean they live lewd lives, but those who are lewd do practice those things. Beware of lewdness and beware of people coming into the church who have these bad attitudes.
Questions:
- Are you a complainer?
- Do you walk according to your lust or are you trying to escape lust?
