12.19.2017 – Old Testament: Mic 2.10–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Micah 1–3 on December 19, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The people of Judah had so turned from the Lord, that they had risen up as an enemy to Him. Therefore, they would not be able to rest in the land. He told them,
“Arise and depart,
For this is not your rest;
Because it is defiled, it shall destroy,
Yes, with utter destruction.
If a man should walk in a false spirit
And speak a lie, saying,
‘I will prophesy to you of wine and drink,’
Even he would be the prattler of this people.”
(Micah 2.10–11)
The Lord would let Judah suffer, but if someone came, claiming to be a prophet, saying that there would be wine and drink, the Lord declared that such a person would only be a prattler, someone who was just speaking, but not really saying anything, for the Lord had not authorized that man.
Questions:
- How do you handle the word of the Lord?
- Are you a friend or an enemy of the Lord?

I don’t think there is a direct correlation per say but your thought made me think of Ephesians 5:18.
