12.29.2017 – Old Testament: Zec 11.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Zechariah 10–12 on December 29, In the year of our Lord 2017

The Lord had Zechariah hold two staffs, one named Beautiful and the other Bonds. The Lord had Zechariah break the staff Beautiful, because the Lord was going to break the covenant He had made with all the peoples (Zechariah 11.10). Then He broke something else,
Then I cut in two my other staff, Bonds, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel (Zechariah 11.14).
We often see the Lord as bringing people together, which He does, but He also drives them apart at other times. When His people sin and persist in it, He does not bless them with the gift of unity.
