02.03.2018 – Old Testament: Exo 32.15–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 31–33 on February 3, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
Moses went up into the mountain and received the Ten Commandments, written by God Himself. However, while Moses was doing that, the people were doing something else; they were worshiping a golden calf. They were singing about it,
And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written. Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets. And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is a noise of war in the camp.” But he said:
“It is not the noise of the shout of victory,
Nor the noise of the cry of defeat,
But the sound of singing I hear.”
How could they sing to a gold calf? How could they have forgotten so soon what God had done for them?
- Why do we forget what the Lord has done for us?
- Do you remember the Lord everyday?
