03.15.2018 – Old Testament: Deu 27.14

To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 26–27 on March 15, In the year of our Lord 2018

By Don Ruhl

After Israel would enter the Land of Canaan, the Lord wanted half the tribes to stand on one mountain and the other half of the tribes to stand on the opposite mountain and the Levites in the center would announce the curses for people who committed certain evils. Here is how He introduced the speaking of the Levites,

“And the Levites shall speak with a loud voice and say to all the men of Israel…” (Deuteronomy 27.14).

If you speak in front of everyone, so speak that everyone can hear you. If there is a microphone, please do not be afraid of it. It is odd to hear your voice coming over the Public Address system the first few times, but if you cannot hear your voice, then not everyone can hear you. If you speak up in class, so speak that everyone can hear you. If you have decided to speak, you must consider it important, therefore, speak up so that everyone there can hear what important thing you have to contribute.

Questions:

  • Does raising your voice make you uncomfortable?
  • How did you react the first time you heard your voice over the PA system?
