04.16.2018 – New Testament: Luke 15.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 15.11–32 on April 16, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
Jesus began a parable to teach the value of a lost son returning to his father. First, the son wanted what was coming to him,
Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood” (Luke 15.11–12).
Later the son left home. This young man focused on this world and its pleasures. He could only think of material things and himself. Therefore, he was impatient and did not want to wait for his father to die, but wanted his inheritance immediately. It did not go well for him.
