05.09.2018 New Testament: John 2.18–20
To read the Bible in a year, read John 2 on May 9, In the year of our Lord 2018

Jesus drove businessmen out of the temple, even using a whip to get them out of His Father’s House. They wanted to know what sign He would do to prove this was His Father’s House and thus had the authority to do what He did,
So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” (John 2.18–20).
Jesus spoke of His body, for it is the true temple of God. They did not realize, therefore, that He challenged them to kill Him; something they would do easily later. Then He prophesied of His resurrection, but they could only think of the temple that He had just cleansed. Therefore, raising a building in three days that took 46 years to build, seemed ridiculous to them.
- Do you realize that everything in your life should illustrate something about the Lord and you?
- Do you only think spiritually when you are reading the Bible or praying or worshiping?
