By Don Ruhl
Things were in an uproar in Ephesus and the Jews tried to bring peace and order, but the people did not like it:
And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people. But when they found out that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for about two hours, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” (Acts 19.33–34).
The Ephesians knew the religion of the Jews and the Ephesians wanted nothing to do with it. Therefore, when they saw a Jew stand to speak, the Ephesians sought to exalt their god or goddess. However, she is no more and Jehovah God continues. Now we know who the true and living God is.
