Why the Lord gives us leaders

Ephesians Bible Background

10.02.2018 – New Testament: Eph 4.16

To read the Bible in a year, read Ephesians 4 on October 2, In the year of our Lord 2018

By Don Ruhl

Paul taught that when Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave gifts to men, including that of leaders, whom he listed in Ephesians 4.11. Paul went on to explain Jesus gives those leaders to the church to help it do good works and mature in the faith, but also that the church might experience this in Christ:

from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love (Ephesians 4.16).

The goal is to have everyone contribute something to the growth of the body of Christ. If you are not contributing to the growth of your home congregation, find out what you can do, and do it.
