10.09.2018 – Old Testament: Isa 41.27–29
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 41–42 on October 9, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
What happens when we turn our backs on the Lord and follow something else? Israel turned to idols and here is what the Lord said about it:
“The first time I said to Zion,
‘Look, there they are!’
And I will give to Jerusalem one who brings good tidings.
For I looked, and there was no man;
I looked among them, but there was no counselor,
Who, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
Indeed they are all worthless;
Their works are nothing;
Their molded images are wind and confusion.”
(Isaiah 41.27–29)
Jeremiah 5 also describes a similar sad situation. Does it picture us today? Can we find men who will speak God’s word?
Questions:
- Can the Lord depend upon you to speak?
- Do you know God’s word?
