10.12.2018 – Old Testament: Isa 49.3–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 48–49 on October 12, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
God chose Israel to reveal His glory and that is precisely what we see in the Bible. However, look at how Israel responded:
“And He said to me,
‘You are My servant, O Israel,
In whom I will be glorified.’
Then I said, ‘I have labored in vain,
I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain;
Yet surely my just reward is with the LORD,
And my work with my God.’”
(Isaiah 49.3–4)
God decided upon Israel as His servant, although Israel believed that it had failed in that capacity. However, Israel also knew that its reward would come from the Lord God.
Questions:
- Do you think that you have let God down?
- Has He shown you that He still favors you?
