Remember Paul

Colossians Bible Background

10.12.2018 – New Testament: Col 4.18a

To read the Bible in a year, read Colossians 4 on October 12, In the year of our Lord 2018

By Don Ruhl

As Paul closed his letter to the Colossian Church, he left a mark that let the brethren know that Paul had truly written this letter:

This salutation by my own hand—Paul (Colossians 4.18a).

He signed the letter. Apparently, they were persuaded that he had sent the letter and they made copies of it and copies of those copies were made until we have come down to our time, and we have the same letter that he delivered to them 1900 years ago.

  • Have you tried to write another person’s signature? Try it just for fun.
  • What other reasons can you give for concluding that Colossians came from Paul and ultimately from the Holy Spirit?
