By Don Ruhl

Long ago, as recorded in Genesis 12.3, the Lord promised that through Abraham He would bless all the families of the earth. In Genesis 22.18, He said that through Abraham He would bless all the nations of the earth. Isaiah 60 addresses that truth more, that what was coming would also include the nations (Gentiles) and not just the Jews:

“The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls,
And their kings shall minister to you;
For in My wrath I struck you,
But in My favor I have had mercy on you.
Therefore your gates shall be open continually;
They shall not be shut day or night,
That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles,
And their kings in procession.
For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,
And those nations shall be utterly ruined.”
(Isaiah 60.10–12)

Now the people of God, Christians, have far more wealth available to them than ancient Israel ever had. Also, note that the nation that does not serve the Lord’s people, shall perish. I simply direct you to history and you will see that the nations that try to silence the church do not do well and eventually fade into nothingness.

Questions:

  • Concerning the flesh, are you a Jew or a Gentile?
  • If you are a Gentile, what do you think about prophecies such as the one above that shows the Lord wanted to include you?
