How does the word of God affect you? Do you tremble at His word? If you do, you need to hear what He said to Israel of past:
Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed” (Isaiah 66.5).
You tremble at the word of God, but some people, perhaps even some fellow-Christians, do not appreciate your view of the word of God. They mock you, such as the enemies of the God-tremblers here who asked them mockingly to glorify the Lord. Note that the Lord promised that those who mocked them would be ashamed. Keep reading the word of the Lord, doing what you can to obey Him, and your mockers shall go down.
Questions:
- If the word of God does not make you tremble, what does it do to you?
- What do you think of people who do tremble at the word of God?
