The Lord revealed to Abraham that He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities. Knowing that his nephew and family lived in that area, Abraham pled with the Lord that he spare the cities if as little as 10 righteous people could be found there. When the Lord and Abraham finished talking:

So the LORD went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place (Genesis 18.33).

There was nothing else to say, so the Lord left and Abraham went back to where he had set up his tent.

Questions:

• If you could speak to the Lord face-to-face, what would you say to Him?
• Why can’t you say it in prayer?
