01.16.2019 – Old Testament: Gen 39.6b–7
To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 38–40 on January 16, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
We typically think of men as being the sexual aggressors toward women who are not their wives, but it also happens the other way, as shown in the case of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife:
Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me” (Genesis 39.6–7).
You may know the rest of the story and how aggressive she became. However, he remained true to his master and most of all to God.
Questions:
- How has the opposite sex treated you?
- Do you remain loyal to God at all costs?
