02.09.2019 – Old Testament: Lev 8.10–13
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 7–9 on February 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
The tabernacle and all the items associated with it, represented the meeting place between God and man. Therefore, Moses had to anoint it all:
Also Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. He sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, anointed the altar and all its utensils, and the laver and its base, to consecrate them. And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him, to consecrate him. Then Moses brought Aaron’s sons and put tunics on them, girded them with sashes, and put hats on them, as the LORD had commanded Moses (Leviticus 8.10–13).
This was an exciting time for Israel as the Lord prepared them for their great sacrificial system that has now been replaced by the work that Jesus the Lord accomplished at the cross.
