02.26.2019 – Old Testament: Num 16.23–27
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 16–17 on February 26, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
Several from the tribe of Levi questioned the authority of Moses and Aaron, evidently wanting more authority for themselves, for they were already the only ones who could serve in the tabernacle. They refused to repent of their rebellion, and Moses had to tell everyone to get away from the rebels because something awful was going to happen:
So the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the congregation, saying, Get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.” Then Moses rose and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.” So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little children (Numbers 16.23–27).
Some people will not listen to Scripture or reason. The only thing you can do then is get away from them, lest you get caught up in their sins, and the consequences that will come upon them.
- What have you done in the past with people who would not listen?
- Have you ever been unreasonable?
