03.02.2019 – New Testament: Mark 9.20–24
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 9.1–29 on March 2, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
A man brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus, thinking that perhaps He could help, but not really being sure:
Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9.20–24).
When you go to Jesus, you must believe that He can help you, otherwise, it turns into a test of whether He has the ability or not. Jesus is not just somebody who has some power to help, He is the Creator of heaven and earth. You must go to Him with 100% belief.
Questions:
- How would you rate your belief in Jesus?
- What do you need to do to make it stronger?
