03.09.2019 – Old Testament: Deu 9.13–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 8–10 on March 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
The children of Israel had so disgusted the Lord God that He decided to wipe them out and build a new and even greater nation through Moses:
“Furthermore the LORD spoke to me, saying, ‘I have seen this people, and indeed they are a stiff-necked people. Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they’” (Deuteronomy 9.13–14).
However, Moses interceded for Israel and the Lord spared them. What would have come from Moses, we will never know. Think of all the great things that the Lord did with Israel, yet, He could have done something even greater. The Lord continued to work with the people because great people like Moses spoke on their behalf.
- Do you plead with the Lord to spare people?
- How often do you make intercessory prayer?
